Atlantic Awarded Multimillion-Dollar GPSC3 Contract From the United States Geological Survey (USGS)

Huntsville, Ala. (June 21, 2016) Atlantic has been awarded a multimillion-dollar prime contract from the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Under the Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) 5-year contract titled GPSC3 (Geospatial Products and Services Contract 3), Atlantic will complete task orders nationwide to support geospatial needs of the USGS and its partners.

“Putting Atlantic in a position to win this prestigious contract has been a constant goal over the past several years,” said Brian Mayfield, President and COO of Atlantic. “We have made many strategic decisions to design our company to be a great partner to the USGS and are very excited to have the opportunity to support the USGS in providing professional surveying and mapping services nationwide.”

The USGS is working to complete 3DEP (http://nationalmap.gov/3DEP/3dep_about.html) a program designed to meet the growing needs for high-quality topographic data for the entire United States.  It is anticipated that a large portion of the total contract capacity available to the USGS will be used to satisfy the requirements of 3DEP.

Atlantic Expands By Acquiring Continental

Atlantic is pleased to announce that it has acquired Continental Aerial Surveys, Inc. located in Knoxville, TN. Atlantic’s recent success has expanded its reach to into new markets and allowed the company to explore opportunities to make strategic investments, as with the purchase of Continental Aerial Surveys, to continue a path of growth and success.

“Continental has been in business for nearly 50 years.  During that time, they developed company and staff expertise in the many markets including mining, aggregate volumetrics and transportation,” said Brian Mayfield, President and COO of Atlantic. “Combining Continental’s expertise and history with Atlantic’s technology will allow us to provide a wider offering to Continental’s existing clients that will offer better results, faster, and for a lower cost.”

The acquisition will also add additional technical staff and aerial assets to Atlantic’s growing operations.
