Atlantic Employees Earn Remote Pilot Certificates From The FAA

By |November 10th, 2016|Uncategorized|0 Comments

Huntsville, Ala. (November 10, 2016) – Atlantic would like to be the first to recognize the accomplishments of Nate Litter, Blake Spry, and Jeff Hersom for earning their Remote Pilot Certificates from the FAA.

The FAA published its Small UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) Rule (Part 107) on August 29, 2016. This ruling established a remote pilot in command position and stipulates that any person operating a small UAS (under 55 lbs) must either hold a remote pilot certificate with a small UAS rating or be under the direct supervision of a person holding that certificate.

Mr. Litter serves as Atlantic’s Director of Flight Operations and he holds many other FAA certificates including A&P (Airframe & Powerplant). He oversees Atlantic’s team of full-time pilots and manages Atlantic’s fleet of aircraft. Mr. Spry and Mr. Hersom are both Staff Pilots with Atlantic and also hold many other FAA certificates including a CFI (Certified Flight Instructor).

“UAS has been a hot topic in the professional surveying and mapping profession for several years”, said Steve Denney, Atlantic’s CEO and a fellow FAA certified pilot. “We believe that Nathanael, Blake, and Jeff […]
