Huntsville, Ala. (August 8, 2016) – Atlantic would like to congratulate and recognize Zachary Andersen for becoming a Certified GIS Professional (GISP) awarded by the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI). Mr. Andersen becomes Atlantic’s third Certified GISP and the first to pass the exhaustive examination and portfolio review process that was put into practice in mid-November 2015. The GISP title is earned by those who not simply pass the test, but by those who attain professional experience and make positive contributions to the GIS profession.

“This achievement is something to hold in high esteem, and we are thrilled to announce that another team member has reached their professional goal,” said Brian Mayfield, President and COO of Atlantic. “When employees like Zac work towards meeting personal and professional milestones like a GISP Certification, it makes our company better.”

Mr. Andersen joined Atlantic over 5 years ago and was just promoted to GIS Services Manager as he has shown astounding leadership and a drive for innovation. In addition to his newly earned title of GISP, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of Alabama.
