This week, Kyle Manderson (Project Manager for Atlantic’s Statewide LiDAR Program with the State of Kansas), and I will exhibit at the 2015 Kansas Association for Floodplain Management, Inc. (KAFM) Conference in Kansas City. Atlantic is off to a great start with our 5-year contract with the State of Kansas. In the first year alone, we acquired and developed nearly 10,000 mi2 of USGS QL2+ LiDAR data for four (4) separate areas within the State of Kansas.

As we head into the final stages of delivery on the 2014-15 data collected and begin working towards the 2015-16 collection season, I can’t help but feel excited about our partnership with the State of Kansas. This conference should afford Kyle and me an opportunity to meet a large portion of the user community of the statewide LiDAR data. I am looking forward to answering questions about our approach, the results of the data itself (better than 4 ppsm and ~6cm RMSEz) and getting ideas about how to consistently improve our processes and techniques to make certain our clients in Kansas get the […]
